The standard hire period for skips in Ilkley is 14 days, unless otherwise arranged. After 14 days, our providers may collect the skip. If you need to extend the hire period, please contact your skip provider to make arrangements.

For skips placed on public highways in Ilkley, our providers will remove them when the permit expires, even if this happens before the 14-day period ends. Unfortunately, we cannot offer refunds for skips collected early. It’s important to keep your skip provider informed if you need more time.

Your provider will attempt to notify you before the skip is collected, but this is not always guaranteed. Make sure you contact them promptly if your plans change.

Your waste will be properly processed at one of our providers’ recycling centers in compliance with UK waste management laws.

Mattresses, along with plasterboards, are prohibited from skips as they cannot be recycled. If you place a mattress in your skip, you will incur an additional charge of up to £50 per mattress.

It is illegal to overfill your skip in Ilkley. Skips must not be filled above the top edges. If your skip is overfilled, our driver will not be able to collect it.

To avoid any issues, check the skip’s fill level before the collection and ensure it is below the top edges. If you’re unsure, consult with the driver before loading your skip.

Due to regulations introduced in 2009, plasterboard cannot be mixed with biodegradable waste. As such, it must be separated for recycling.

If you have plasterboard, it must be bagged separately and placed on top of the skip without exceeding the skip's capacity. If it’s mixed with other waste, the skip will not be collected.

Let us know if you need to dispose of plasterboard, and we will provide a suitable bag for it if not already arranged.

You do not need to be present for the skip delivery in Ilkley unless special arrangements are required. However, if the delivery cannot be made, you may incur a wasted journey charge. Be sure to provide clear delivery instructions, and ensure someone can be reached in case of issues.

For skip collections, your presence is not needed as long as the skip is accessible and properly filled. Ensure there is enough room for the lorry to access the skip and that the skip is not obstructed. If the skip is overfilled or the collection fails for other reasons, a wasted journey charge will apply.

When loading your skip, start by placing heavy, bulky items at the bottom, then fill in smaller, lighter items on top. This will help you make the most of the space available.

Make sure the load is level with the skip's edges. If the skip is overloaded and the contents extend above the edge, the driver will not collect it. If this happens, you will be charged a wasted journey fee.
